What email notifications do

Allo emails you about your calls, so you can pick up a missed customer or reread a summary without opening the app. You decide which calls trigger an email, and which of your lines they come from. These settings are personal. Changing them affects your inbox only, never your teammates’. Where to find them: go to Settings > Email notifications.
This screen is available on the web app at web.withallo.com and in the desktop app. It is not in the mobile apps yet.

What you can turn on

Missed calls

A call on that line goes unanswered

Answered calls

Your team picks up a call on that line

AI receptionist

The AI receptionist handles a call on that line

Missed calls

You get an email when nobody answers a call on that line. If the caller leaves a voicemail, the email carries the caller’s name and number, the date and time, the transcription, a link to the audio and the AI summary. See Voicemail for greetings and transcription.

Answered calls

You get an email after a call your team took on that line. The email carries the AI summary, the full transcript, a link to the recording, the caller’s details and the timestamp. See Call Recordings for where the same content lives in the app and in your CRM.

AI receptionist

You get an email when the AI receptionist takes a call on that line.

How to choose which lines email you

Each of the three notifications has its own list of lines. Open the dropdown next to a notification and pick the lines you want to hear about. The dropdown shows how many lines you selected, for example 4 lines of 5. Use this when your workspace holds more numbers than you work. A support line can email you every missed call while the main company number stays quiet.
1

Open your notification settings

Go to Settings > Email notifications.
2

Open a notification

Select the dropdown next to Missed calls, Answered calls or AI receptionist.
3

Pick your lines

Select the lines you want emails from, and clear the ones you do not.
Turn a notification off completely: clear every line from its dropdown.

Where your emails go

Allo sends to your work email address. Set it in Settings > Profile > Work email.

Troubleshooting

Go to Settings > Email notifications and open the dropdown for that notification. Check the line is selected. If it is, check your work email address in Settings > Profile, then look in your spam folder. Add Allo’s sending address to your contacts so your provider stops filtering it.
Open the dropdown for the notification you want to reduce and clear the lines you do not work. Answered calls on a busy shared line are the usual cause.
Each person sets their own notifications. Your teammate selected a line that you did not, or the other way around. Compare your two Settings > Email notifications screens.
You only see the lines you have access to. Ask a team admin to add you to the line in Settings > Numbers.
