WhatsApp with Allo numbers is only available for French mobile numbers (06/07). Requires Business plan.
Requirements
You need:- Business plan subscription
- French mobile number (06 or 07)
- WhatsApp app installed
- Gatekeeper temporarily disabled
Setup steps
Disable Gatekeeper in Allo
The Gatekeeper setting is currently only available in the mobile app. It will be available on web/desktop soon!
- Open Allo app
- Go to Settings
- Select your number
- Go to Spam Blocker > Gatekeeper
- Toggle OFF if enabled
This allows you to receive the verification call from WhatsApp/Meta.
Request voice verification
- When asked for verification code, tap “Didn’t receive a verification code”
- Wait for “Voice call” option to appear
- Tap “Voice call”
Answer the call
- Answer the call from Meta/WhatsApp
- Listen to the automated voice
- Write down the verification code
- Enter code in WhatsApp
Complete setup
- Finish WhatsApp account creation
- Add profile photo and name
- You’re ready to use WhatsApp
Important notes
French mobile numbers only
Requirements:- Must be 06 or 07 number
- Available on Business plan only
- Cannot use landline (09, 01, etc.)
Contact support to add one to your account. Buy additional numbers
SMS doesn’t work
Why you must use voice call:- Allo numbers cannot receive OTP SMS
- WhatsApp verification SMS won’t arrive
- Voice call is the only method that works
WhatsApp calls are not recorded
Important limitation:- WhatsApp calls don’t go through Allo
- No recording
- No AI summary
- No transcript
- Won’t appear in Allo call history

Check:
- Gatekeeper is disabled
- You selected “Voice call” not SMS
- Number is French mobile (06/07)
- Allo app is open and connected
- Wait 2-3 minutes
- Close and reopen WhatsApp
- Request new code

Verify:
If Allo number is 06 12 34 56 78
Enter in WhatsApp: +33 6 12 34 56 78
- Format: +33 6 XX XX XX XX (remove leading 0)
- Country code +33 is selected
- Number type is mobile (06 or 07)

Voice call verification not offered
Voice call verification not offered
Wait a few moments:
- Voice option appears after 1-2 minutes
- Don’t keep requesting SMS
- Let timer count down
- Close WhatsApp completely
- Restart the app
- Start verification again

Business plan users:
- French mobile numbers (06/07) available
- Cost: 5€/month additional
- Contact support to add
- Upgrade to Business plan first
- Then add French mobile number
Already used this number on WhatsApp

WhatsApp limits:
- One WhatsApp account per number
- Cannot have multiple WhatsApp accounts
- Will deactivate previous account
- Use different Allo number
- Or accept previous account will be deactivated
