Use email sign-in instead
Two-factor authentication cannot be disabled on Allo accounts. But you don’t need the SMS code to sign in: you can always sign in with your email address instead.- The code is sent from [email protected]
- It is valid for 1 hour and works once
- Check Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders if you don’t see it
If the SMS code doesn’t arrive
1
Check the phone number
Make sure the number includes the country code (for example +1 415 555 0142 or +33 6 12 34 56 78).
2
Resend the code
Tap Resend code, then wait at least 30 seconds. Codes can take a moment to arrive depending on your carrier.
3
Check SMS blocking
Verify your phone isn’t blocking messages from unknown senders, and that your inbox isn’t full.
4
Switch to email
If SMS still fails, sign in with your email address instead (see above).
If the email code doesn’t arrive
- Check Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders
- Search your inbox for [email protected]
- Wait 1 to 2 minutes and request a new code
- Make sure you typed your email address correctly

- The phone number that isn’t receiving the code
This page is about codes sent by Allo to sign in or verify your account. If you’re trying to receive verification codes from other services (your bank, WhatsApp, Google) on your Allo number, that’s a different topic: Allo numbers can’t reliably receive third-party verification codes. See Understanding your Allo number.
