A view is a named filter and sort over your people, the same views you create on the Contacts page of the Allo app. Views created in the app and with the API are the same objects. The Views API lets you list, create, edit and delete them.

Filters

Each filter is a { field, operator, value } condition, and all the conditions of a view are combined with AND, up to 50 per view. value is always a string.
  • field: a built-in person field (name, company, job_title, emails, phone_numbers, website, addresses, created_at, updated_at, last_activity, activity_history, sms_content (only when the team has SMS)) or the key of a custom field from List custom fields.
  • operator: one of IS, IS_NOT, CONTAINS, NOT_CONTAINS, EMPTY, NOT_EMPTY, STARTS_WITH, ENDS_WITH, BEFORE, AFTER, DATE_EQUALS, GREATER_THAN, GREATER_THAN_OR_EQUAL, LESS_THAN, LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, HAS. The operator must match the type of the field, otherwise the request returns INVALID_FILTER_OPERATOR.
  • value: must be readable for the type of the field: numeric for a number field, an ISO 8601 date (2026-01-31) or date-time (2026-01-31T00:00:00Z) for a date field such as created_at. Otherwise the request returns INVALID_FILTER_VALUE. Ignored for EMPTY and NOT_EMPTY.
View filters use explicit { field, operator, value } conditions, unlike the named filters object of Search people. This is intentional: it lets a view created in the app come back through the API exactly as it was saved, and a view created with the API open in the app unchanged.

Sort

sort accepts up to 2 entries, each with a field and an order (asc or desc). Sortable built-in fields are name, company, job_title, website, created_at, updated_at, last_activity. You can also sort on the key of a sortable custom field from List custom fields. An unknown field returns INVALID_SORT_FIELD, and a field that cannot be sorted on returns FIELD_NOT_SORTABLE.

Private and team views

owner_type is USER by default: the view is private to the user of the API key. Set it to TEAM to share the view with that user’s team; if the user has no team, the request returns 400 USER_HAS_NO_TEAM. Updating or deleting a team view requires being its owner or a team ADMIN or MANAGER, otherwise the request returns 403 VIEW_PERMISSION_DENIED. Another user’s private view is not visible to you and returns 404 VIEW_NOT_FOUND.
