# Google Calendar

> Connect Google Calendar so your AI receptionist books callers directly onto your calendar

Connecting Google Calendar lets your AI receptionist book a meeting for a caller during the call, straight onto the calendar you choose.

## How to connect Google Calendar

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open integrations">
    Go to [**web.withallo.com**](https://web.withallo.com) and navigate to **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Google Calendar**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect Google Calendar">
    Click **Connect Google Calendar**. A window opens to Google's sign-in page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize">
    Sign in if needed, then grant Allo access to your Google Calendar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Done">
    You're redirected back to Allo. Allo reads your calendars, and your account appears in the connected list.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What your AI receptionist books

Google Calendar has no event types. Your AI receptionist creates the meeting directly on the calendar you pick for it, at the length you set:

* **Account**: the Google account your agent books from. Any connected account in the workspace, including a teammate's.
* **Calendar**: which of that account's calendars receives the events. Allo only shows calendars you can write to. If none is chosen, Allo books onto the account's primary calendar.
* **Event duration**: how long each booked meeting is. 30 minutes by default.

## Who can connect and choose a calendar

Any team member can connect their own Google account, and any team member can pick any connected account in the workspace for their agent to book from, including a teammate's. There's no setup step to block on: unlike Cal.com or Calendly, a Google connection has no event type that can be left unconfigured.

Picking which specific calendar within that account the agent uses, and setting the event duration, is more restricted: only the account's owner, or an admin or manager, can change it. Everyone else sees the choice but can't edit it.

## Booking rules and blocked dates

Each connected Google Calendar account has its own business hours, timezone, and blocked dates, set on its integration page in Allo. Booking rules control when the agent can use them:

* **Buffer between meetings**: on by default, 30 minutes.
* **Respect business hours**: on by default.
* **Advance notice**: on by default, 2 hours minimum before a meeting can be booked.
* **Booking window**: off by default. Turn it on to cap how far out callers can book, 60 days by default.

These settings apply to the account you connect. If a teammate connects their own Google account, they set their own hours and rules independently.
